“A house is much more than a mere shelter—it should lift us emotionally and spiritually.”

John Saldino

Hello!

I'm Tessy.

I’m an Interior Designer originally from Luxembourg, now based in Nottingham, England.

I live in a beautiful Edwardian home with my husband, our two energetic kids, and our gentle, very anxious black-and-white cat, Suki.

Designing homes is my passion. I believe everyone deserves a space they truly love and feel truly at ease in.

I’m here to help you create a home that reflects your style and brings you joy.

My Story

Home is where the heart truly resides. A well-designed home isn’t just a place; it’s a sanctuary - a refuge that offers calm and a break from life’s daily pressures.

I grew up in Luxembourg, a small country tucked between France, Germany, and Belgium. My roots are in a family of winegrowers, and as the youngest of five siblings - arriving 14 years after the others - I learned to appreciate the warmth and uniqueness of a close-knit home.

At 19, driven by curiosity and a desire for growth, I left our small village on the German border to study Art History in Newcastle. The transition to the UK was challenging, but after a few tumultuous years, I found my place and now proudly call the UK my home.

Throughout my life, I’ve moved 14 times, not all of them happy transitions. These experiences taught me the critical importance of loving and cherishing your home - it truly forms the foundation of a happy life. If you’re not at peace in your own space, finding solace anywhere else can be difficult.

I have a deep affection for period homes, with their character, quirks, and stories etched into every corner. During lockdown, my family and I found our dream home, a large Edwardian property that had been split into two flats over 40 years ago. We embarked on a passionate journey to restore it to its former glory, transforming it back into a grand family home. This ongoing renovation is what sparked my decision to leave behind a career in project management and pursue my lifelong dream of becoming an interior designer.

My Approach

Through a journey of self-discovery and experiencing the challenges of living in a neurodiverse household, I’ve come to understand the importance of creating well designed, functional homes that meet the true needs of those living in it daily. This personal yearning for functional spaces that have the ability to lift my spirits, create calm among chaos and offer a true sanctuary shapes how I approach each project. Uncovering, understanding and meeting my clients' unique needs is always at the forefront of my designs.

When you work with me, you canbe assured that I will take the time to deeply understand your requirements. Whether you need a sounding board for your ideas, guidance on tough decisions, or prefer to hand over the entire project, I’m here to support you. My goal is to make the design process enjoyable and to deliver a home that you’ll love and cherish for years to come.

You might be inspired by stunning homes you’ve seen online, in magazines, or on TV but feel overwhelmed by the choices. Perhaps you’re planning a major extension or a large open-plan space and are unsure how to effectively zone the areas or create a functional layout. Or maybe you’re worried about making costly mistakes - like choosing the wrong flooring, a wall colour you later regret or positioning radiators, windows or electrical outlets in the wrong places. These are all design mistakes that are commonly made due to time constraints, lack of expertise, or miscommunication with tradespeople.

By working with me, you can rest assured that even the most boring (but essential) elements are considered and included and planned for. Together, we’ll create a home that’s not only beautiful but also practical and tailored to your lifestyle. A home that makes your daily life that little bit easier and less stressful.

I bring endless care, meticulous attention to detail, and boundless creativity to every project. If you’re looking to fall in love with your home again or need a guiding hand to take the stress out of your renovation, I’m here to help.

My interior design services are aimed to make the process of turning your house into a home enjoyable, rewarding and stress-free.
